Pumpjack Trophies

For the second robotics competition we hosted, we decided to make working pumpjack trophies. What is shown here is a close-up of the counterweight at the back of the pumpjack.
This is the front of the trophy. The belt that drives it is a rubber band. The trophy is run by a 3 volt motor. You can see it here installed in the motor mounts.
The battery pack is installed in the base of the trophy. There is a switch in the back to turn it on and off. This trophy has not yet been wired up. You can see the holes where the wires would come up to the back of the motor.
This is all the trophies together. You can download a movie of the trophies running here. (36Mb)
